Paint swab monsters

Normally we’re all about fairies & princesses but recently we’ve developed a bit of a monster obsession! Sharp teeth and angry eyebrows are apparently in.
So, today we decided to get creative with the pile of paint sample swabs that we’ve accumulated over many a DIY home improvement weekend… and a few of them became scary monsters! Paint swabs can be used to make almost anything, as they are more sturdy than paper and obviously come in every colour imaginable.

What we used:
  • Paint sample swabs
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Googly eyes
  • Scraps from our craft box – felt, pipe cleaners, feathers & paper
  • Icy pole/popsicle sticks

All we did was cut the paint swabs into different monster shapes and then glued on their facial features – make sure you cut out lots of small triangles for the sharp teeth! To finish them off, we stuck them onto icy pole sticks so that they could be held up like puppets.
Despite their angry expressions, these guys have been getting a lot of love today!
